Arga Bileg Ethno-Jazz band

Arga Bileg is Mongolian ethno-jazz band formed in 2009. The band consists of O.Munkhtogtokh (zither), T.Purevsukh (piano), N.Jigjiddorj (horsehead fiddle), Kh.Batzaya (horsehead fiddle) and G.Gantulga (percussion). They have performed the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York, the UNESCO World Heritage Center, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing and also the Swiss, Germany, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. In 2012 and 2014, Arga Bileg toured New York, Chicago, Denver, Bloomington and Seattle. During their second tour of the U.S., Arga Bileg performed live on world-renowned public radio station “KEXP-FM” in Seattle. Arga Bileg’s first album, “DEELT,” was released in 2009, and second album, which was original soundtrack of movie called “DEV”, released in 2010. In 2014, Arga Bileg collaborated Switzerland’s Heiri Känzig quintet, and recorded collaborative album, “AGULA”, was released in 2016, and they toured together in major cities of Switzerland. “AGULA” was nominated for the Best New Age Album at the Grammy Awards 2016.
